Loss of a Dear friend

We recently lost a dear and beloved friend in our Yahoo group - Hand Prepared Fibers. Her name is Eileen. She fought an impressive battle with cancer over the years we knew her and unfortunately the cancer won.

Eileen had a way with words that I could never match. She also had the uncanny knack of saying the right thing in your time of need. If you would like to follow the journey she made and taste her way with words, you can do so by reading her blog:

Looking at the World through Rose Colored Cancer

Eileen

The rest of this page is dedicated to Eileen from her family at HPF.

I got a note from Eileens mom that Eileen left for her journey at 1:30 this morning. I am at a loss for words so I'll just say, we need to remember the wonderful life she had in her and how that will always live on thru all of us here. I know she touched everyone of us in a special way. Lets take the day to think of that.    Dori Ann

You know the Internet is a truly amazing thing. It brings people together from all over the world, people who never would have met one another had the Internet not been created.

Because of our love of fiber and the Internet, we were given the gift of sharing Eileen’s life and illness. Only the Lord know how many extra  years this gave Eileen, and I thank God for putting her on the path to this group and allowing us to share her life.  Fran

Fran, I appreciate and agree with your thoughts and words about Eileen's presence in our lives.  Nikki

I will miss her insight and encouragement. She is an amazing lady. Eileen, see you later when we journey up there!! Save us a spot!!  Love you!   Sandy

Praise God that Eileen is no longer suffering.  She fought a most valiant fight and I am proud to have known her.  Here leaving is a loss to us all, but she travels a trail we all must follow.  She has left a little of herself in all of us who knew her.  I will miss her sorely until the day I can see her again.  Carol Lee

My thoughts and prayers are with her family today.    Linda S

I've been re-reading Eileen's blog starting from its beginning 3 1/2 years ago  What a gift for writing she had! And such wry humor looking into the face of death itself! She expressed many things that are rarely discussed. Farewell and Rest in Peace, Eileen! You've earned your rest.  Linda D

I am sure she is im a better place and no longer suffering. I can picture her in
heaven teaching others how to spin and knit.
My heart and condolescences go out to her family and also all her family on this
group.   Donna

I am so thankful for Elieen, I don't think her family knows who she touched thru the group. I can see  with her fb page and her blog she touched many lives.   Dori Ann

Eileen was a teacher to us all in the way she shared her journey openly and honestly.   DayleAnn

I wish Eileen swift travels. She was stronger than anyone I know, especially facing what she did. I hope that her family knows that, and my heart goes out to them.   Terry
