Office AlternativesOpen Office

Probably the best known alternative is Open Office, an Open Source Office alternative. I have used this program for quite some time and I have to say that I like it. I have only had one or two conversion problems and that was with earlier versions. The newest versin - v2.0 is great. It is now a full featured Office Suite and it now has a Database!! Here is what OO contains:

Write - Word Processor
Impress - Replaces PowerPoint
Math - Creates equations and formulae for your documents
Calc - Speadsheet
Draw - A Vector Drawing Program
Base - Database

602 PC Suite
Compatible with Office, uses .DOC and .XLS formats. has PDF export from any application, organize photos and share documents online. Free for personal and non-commercial use.

602 Software also offers a LAN Suite that has a free 5 user license. It offers a mail server, firewall, Internet connection sharing, antivirus and antispam software. It can be downloaded here.

SSuite Office Suite Personal
SSuite is a small office (11.5 meg) package that can run on all versions of Windows and Linux with the Windows emulation. Included are a spread sheet, word processor, email client, web browser, PDF creator, ODBC database connectivity, envelope printer and address book.
I have not tried this program yet, but I will be soon. I will let you know what I think of it.
